Who is Pamela Sintes?
Pamela Sintes was a victim of domestic violence. She was killed in 1993 at age 34 by an ex-boyfriend. A native New Orleanian and alumna of Archbishop Chapelle High School and the University of New Orleans, Pam loved to sail, swim, and dance. She managed the Sea Chest and was a member of the Southshore Yacht Club.
What is the Pam Sintes Memorial Regatta and the Pamela Sintes Memorial Foundation?
The Regatta began in 1995 in memory of Pam. In 2018, the Pamela Sintes Memorial Foundation was founded. All funds raised by the Foundation are used to assist victims of domestic violence. In addition to the Regatta, the Foundation sponsors a toy drive at Christmas for children in domestic violence situations. Since the Foundation began in 2018, they have raised over $45,000 for victims of domestic violence.
